Of special interest to all participants were the personal statements delivered by the important personalities who attended the conference. Amalia Moutousi shared a series of her "unacknowledged affinities" with Dimitris Papaioannou, recalling decisive meetings in memorable performances, while Roula Pateraki shared her impressions regarding the artist's inner conflict against the material he creates. Euripides Laskaridis spoke about the excitement he experienced as a spectator when he first watched Papaioannou’s stage productions and about their subsequent collaboration. The poet Nikos A. Panagiotopoulos read a eulogy for the indelible "imprint" of ink left by the creations of Dimitris Papaioannou and Reni Pittaki conveyed the subtle vibration from her contact with the work of the artist, as an ancient memory, rebuilt with his painted look and naked body evoking an ancient statue that "breathes and pulsates with life."
