Isabelle, that Angel of the Odd
23.03.2025
Eleni Papalexiou, "Isabelle, that Angel of the Odd", I Kathimerini, 23.03.2025, 7.
Romeo Castellucci brings the audience back to a real dimension, simultaneously raising the innate issue of the actor's exposure. In his view, the actor is a witness: one who intentionally exposes themselves to the subjective violence of others' gaze and one who is compelled to represent the violence of the world, as seen in Bérénice's tragic exile. Ultimately, the stage becomes the actor's boundary, with their limit measured by the pain induced by such exposure to the audience's gaze.
